Practice

Asa King represents individuals and businesses in bankruptcy matters in Arkansas and New Mexico. Consumer cases are the core of the practice: Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 for people who need a workable way through debt they cannot pay. Asa also considers selected creditor matters and disputes in bankruptcy court, after a conflicts check.

  • the Supreme Court of Arkansas (admitted 2017);
  • the Supreme Court of New Mexico (admitted 2024);
  • the United States District and Bankruptcy Courts for the Eastern District of Arkansas, the Western District of Arkansas, and the District of New Mexico;
  • the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit;
  • the Supreme Court of the United States; and
  • the Taos Pueblo Tribal Court.

How Asa works with clients

Asa advises you on your options and reviews your petition with you before filing. Alyza coordinates scheduling and documents under Asa's supervision.

From the first conversation to the end of the case: Asa reviews your options with you, prepares the petition and schedules and reviews them with you before filing, signs the petition, and appears with you at the meeting of creditors and at any hearing the court requires.

Consultations are by phone or video. Our office responds to new inquiries, usually within one business day, to arrange a time that works for you.

Alyza Olmilla, paralegal. Alyza holds a law degree from the Philippines and is admitted to the Philippine bar. She is not licensed to practice law in the United States and works as a paralegal under Asa's supervision, coordinating scheduling and documents for the practice.

Background

Asa earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Arkansas in 2012 and his Juris Doctor from the University of Arkansas School of Law in 2016. He was admitted to practice in Arkansas in 2017 and in New Mexico in 2024.

Asa is a solo practitioner and the only attorney on every matter; Alyza Olmilla assists under his supervision. The practice is based in Trumann, Arkansas; New Mexico matters are handled remotely from Arkansas.
