Privacy notice.

What this website collects, what it sends to other companies, how long it is kept, and how to ask questions or request deletion.

Effective date: . This notice covers asaking.law and the consultation and inquiry forms on it. If anything here is unclear, email asa@asaking.law.

Who is responsible

Asa King, Attorney at Law. Mailing address: 15009 Woodruff Lane, Trumann, AR 72472. Phone (870) 212-4700. Email asa@asaking.law.

What the forms collect

The consultation request form asks for your name, your preferred contact method (phone or email), the matching phone number or email address, your state, an optional second way to reach you, whether a deadline is approaching, and an optional note of up to 200 characters. The professional inquiry form for creditors, businesses, and counsel asks for your name, organization, role, email address, phone number, the court or jurisdiction, the type of matter, and a note of up to 300 characters.

Please do not put Social Security numbers, account numbers, debt balances, or documents in a form. Our office will tell you if documents are needed and how to send them securely.

Along with what you type, the form sends: a random request identifier generated by your browser, so that a retried submission is not recorded twice; a token from hCaptcha showing that the submission passed its check; the address of the page you sent it from; and any advertising click identifiers and campaign tags carried by the link that brought you to the site (Google’s gclid, wbraid, or gbraid; Meta’s fbclid; utm tags), together with the page you first landed on, the referring site, and when that happened. Your browser keeps those attribution details in its local storage for up to 90 days so they can be attached to a request you send on a later visit.

When a request is received, our server also records your IP address, your browser’s identification string, the time, and a random reference number (AK-…) that is shown to you on the confirmation page.

How inquiries are used and who sees them

Inquiries are used to contact you, run a conflicts check, and arrange a consultation or a matter discussion. They are stored in a database on our web server and are visible to Asa King and to staff working under his supervision through a password-protected staff page, which also records follow-up status and notes. We do not sell inquiry information or share it with anyone for their own marketing, and we use your contact details only about your inquiry.

Each inquiry is also emailed to our office through Postmark, an email delivery service operated by ActiveCampaign, LLC, which processes the message on our behalf.

Advertising and measurement

This site uses advertising and analytics tools from Google and Meta. Here is what each one receives.

Google Ads and Google Analytics

Every page loads Google’s tag (gtag.js), which sets Google cookies and reports page views to Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads. When a consultation request is received, the confirmation page reports a conversion to Google Ads and a lead event to Google Analytics; those reports carry a random measurement token, not your name or contact details. Professional inquiries are reported to Google Analytics only. Tapping the phone number on a phone is also reported to Google Ads as a conversion.

Separately, once a day our server sends Google Ads a file listing, for each recent request that came from a Google ad, the Google click identifier from that visit, the time of the request, and the random token, so that Google can credit the ad click. No names, phone numbers, email addresses, or notes are sent to Google. We do not use enhanced conversions, customer lists, remarketing audiences, or Google Signals.

Meta (Facebook and Instagram)

Every page loads the Meta Pixel, which sets Meta’s cookies (_fbp and, after a click on a Meta ad, _fbc) and reports a page view to Meta with the page address. When a consultation request is received, two things happen: your browser sends Meta a “Lead” event with the page address and an event identifier, and our server sends Meta’s Conversions API a matching “Lead” event containing your IP address, your browser’s identification string, the address of the page you submitted from, the values of Meta’s cookies, SHA-256 hashes of your email address, phone number, first name, and last name, and a fixed nominal lead value that is the same for every request (it is not based on anything about you). Hashing lets Meta match the event to an account it already holds; it does not make the information anonymous, and the fact that a bankruptcy consultation was requested is part of what Meta receives. Tapping the phone number is reported to Meta as a “Contact” event. No “Lead” event is sent to Meta for creditor or litigation inquiries, in the browser or from our server; the confirmation page for those inquiries is reported as a page view like any other page.

If you would rather Meta not receive any of this, use a content blocker or your browser’s tracking protection, or contact us by phone instead of the form.

hCaptcha

The forms use hCaptcha, a service of Intuition Machines, Inc., to block automated submissions. hCaptcha receives your IP address and browser information, sets its own cookies, and may show a challenge. Its processing is governed by hCaptcha’s own privacy policy.

Server logs and security

Like most web servers, ours logs each request with the IP address, the page requested, the browser’s identification string, the referring page, and the time. Logs are used for security and troubleshooting, are rotated automatically, and are kept for about two weeks. The site is served over HTTPS. The inquiry database is backed up daily on the same server, and backups are kept for 14 days.

How long inquiries are kept

If you do not become a client, your inquiry, including the contact details, the note, the attribution details, and the staff notes about follow-up, is kept for three years from the date it was received and then deleted. If you become a client, your information becomes part of your client file and is kept for as long as professional and legal obligations require. Copies already sent to Google, Meta, hCaptcha, or Postmark are subject to those companies’ own retention rules.

Your choices

  • You can contact us by phone instead of the form. Dialing the number yourself, rather than tapping it on this site, involves none of the tools described above.
  • You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing asa@asaking.law or writing to the mailing address above. We will normally confirm the request within one business day and act on it within 30 days, unless professional obligations require us to keep something. Deletion from our records does not remove what Google or Meta already received; requests to them go through their own privacy tools.
  • Browser settings, content blockers, and Google’s and Meta’s ad-settings pages control most of the tracking described here. The site works with those tools switched on, except that the forms require hCaptcha.

What this site does not do

  • No sale of personal information, and no sharing for other companies’ marketing.
  • No text-message marketing and no marketing email lists. We contact you only about your inquiry.
  • No collection of information from children. This site is for adults.
  • No use of your bankruptcy inquiry to build advertising audiences.

Confidentiality

Sending an inquiry does not create an attorney–client relationship, but information you send in order to ask about representation is handled as confidential, and the conflicts check exists to protect it. Even so, the form and email are not the place for documents or sensitive numbers; wait for instructions from our office.

Changes to this notice

When this notice changes, the effective date at the top changes with it. Any change to what Google or Meta receive will be described here before it takes effect.
